Master the art of dual outfit effects in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered! This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits, leveraging the game's transmog feature.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Required
This dual outfit method is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. The game's recent patch introduced transmog, enabling you to retain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another.
Outfit Requirements
This technique has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you prefer, your secondary outfit (for visual transmog) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, obtained from the Frozen Wilds DLC:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)
Note: Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.
Acquiring Banuk Werak Outfits
Banuk Werak Runner
Reach the Frozen Wilds, defeat the initial machine (adjust difficulty if needed), and purchase the outfit from a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon).

Ultra Hard Cost
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
Complete the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest). Consider lowering the difficulty if necessary. The Adept version is only obtainable in New Game Plus.
Combining Outfit Effects
Equip your desired outfit (optimize stats with Weaves). Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. This grants you the auto-healing benefit of the Banuk Werak outfit while retaining your chosen outfit's stats. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
