Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Author : Eleanor Feb 27,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature Common (Level I) weapons and enemies, but the difficulty quickly escalates to Level II, demanding Fine (Tier II) equipment. This guide details how to acquire and upgrade to Fine-quality weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor:

While some Fine (II) gear can be found or purchased directly, many items require upgrading. Avowed uses a two-part system to gauge gear effectiveness: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and Enhancement Levels (+1 to +3). Common (I) gear is green, while Fine (II) gear is blue.

To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), utilize the workbenches located at Party Camps. Each enhancement level (+1 to +3) requires specific materials. After reaching +3, you can upgrade to Fine (II) using Adra, a rare crystal obtained through quests, merchant purchases, or dismantling Unique items.

Finding and Purchasing Fine (II) Gear:

Upgrading consumes significant resources. Alternatively, you can find Fine (II) weapons and armor early in Dawnshore, though this is uncommon. Level II enemies, especially Bounties, have a chance to drop Fine (II) gear. However, Common gear is less effective against Level II foes, so carry ample health potions.

Paradis merchants offer Fine (II) items after completing the early Main Quest and defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss. Two sisters run adjacent stalls near the Bounty Board: Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister sells standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This comprehensive guide should help you secure the Fine weapons and armor necessary to conquer Avowed's challenges.
