In Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game involves collecting seven essential resources. These resources are crucial for acquiring gear, unlocking permanent upgrades, enhancing survivability, and expanding your character roster. Understanding how to obtain and utilize these resources can be challenging, but this guide aims to clarify their roles and uses, ensuring you have a comprehensive grasp of Hyper Light Breaker's resource system.

Resources are conveniently stored under the items tab in the inventory menu, allowing you to easily monitor your collection.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood is the most abundant resource in Hyper Light Breaker. You can acquire it by defeating enemies, destroying objects, and opening crates within the Overgrowth. Additionally, selling gear to vendors in the Hub will also net you some Bright Blood.

Bright Blood serves multiple purposes:

  • It allows you to loot Blades and Rails from bodies in the Overgrowth.
  • You can use it to open Stashes and other crates in the Overgrowth.
  • Bright Blood can be spent to purchase new gear from vendors in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
  • It's also used to upgrade gear at vendors in the Hub.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles. In the game's early stages, you'll likely complete Cycles by exhausting all four of your Rezes. After using up your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub where you'll find an NPC. Hand over the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and progress toward earning Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are vital for the game's meta-progression system. They enable you to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, you can use Gold Rations to unlock new services from the Hub's vendors.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

Abyss Stones are obtained by defeating Crowns, formidable bosses found behind gates in the Overgrowth. To challenge these bosses, you must first collect Prisms, which are marked by yellow diamonds on the in-game map.

Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones contribute to meta-progression. They allow you to upgrade your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation, just before entering the Overgrowth. These upgrades provide significant advantages in future runs.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys can be found by opening small containers in the Overgrowth, though these caches are not typically marked on the map, making them somewhat elusive.

Keys are essential for bypassing barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other lootable containers. They also allow entry into Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and valuable items.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are crucial for survival and can be collected from small glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They are exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and at Shrines within the Overgrowth.

Before using MediGems, you must expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores are another meta-progression resource found in Stashes within the Overgrowth, marked by chest icons on the map. You can also obtain Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are dropped by enemies that award Prisms and from unmarked lootable objects like bone piles.

Cores are used to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, enhancing your Breakers' stats.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are primarily obtained by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked by gems on the map. You can also gain additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

Materials are used to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth, making them similar to Bright Blood but with more specific applications.
