Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the cast of Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive has confirmed. Following recent additions like Vecna and Chucky, this highly anticipated crossover brings one of gaming's most enduring characters to the popular asymmetrical horror game. The announcement ends months of speculation regarding Lara's inclusion in the Survivor roster.
Dead by Daylight players across all platforms can expect Lara Croft's arrival on July 16th. However, PC players on Steam will gain early access through a public test build. While an official trailer showcasing her in-game skills and perks remains unreleased, PC players will be the first to experience her unique gameplay firsthand. Behaviour Interactive has touted Lara as "the ultimate survivor," a fitting title given her history of navigating treacherous environments. Her in-game model will be based on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.
Beyond Lara Croft, Behaviour Interactive's recent 8th-anniversary livestream unveiled exciting future content for Dead by Daylight. This includes a new 2v8 mode pitting two Killers against eight Survivors, a collaboration with Supermassive Games featuring Frank Stone, and a forthcoming Castlevania chapter. This flurry of announcements coincides with renewed interest in the Tomb Raider franchise, including the recent release of a remastered collection of the original trilogy and a new animated series, "Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft," slated for October 2024, featuring Hayley Atwell as Lara's voice.
