Leveling Up in Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide to Rank Advancement

In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, your rank directly impacts your success in battle. To stand a chance against formidable foes like Lu Bu, you'll need to increase your rank. This guide explains how.

Your rank functions as your in-game level. Starting at rank one, you'll progress by completing battles. However, simply defeating enemies isn't enough. Rank is directly tied to weapon proficiency.

Initially, you'll possess a single level 1 weapon (a sword). Proficiency increases through combat, but it's not just about enemy kills. It's also about:

  • Battle Arts Usage: Regularly employing special abilities linked to each weapon type boosts proficiency.
  • Combo Variety: Don't stick to basic attacks. Experiment with diverse combos to earn more experience.

Increased weapon proficiency leads to rank advancement. Higher ranks unlock benefits such as:

  • Increased health
  • Enhanced attack power
  • Improved defense
  • Bravery boosts (allowing more Battle Arts usage)
  • New skill trees for further stat improvements

While starting with a sword, you'll acquire eight additional weapon types throughout your journey through ancient China. Mastering all nine weapons is key to achieving maximum rank. Each weapon possesses unique properties, so experiment with different weapons and combat styles to maximize experience gain for each.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
