Alphadia III, developed by EXE CREATE and published by KEMCO, is now available for global Android players, following its initial release in Japan last October. This latest installment in the beloved Alphadia series takes players back to the year 970 in the Alphadian calendar, amidst the climactic Energi War, a battle for control over a mysterious life force known as energi.
What’s the Story in Alphadia III?
Set during the final stages of the Energi War, Alphadia III explores a world divided by three major powers: the Schwarzschild Empire in the north, the Nordsheim Kingdom to the west, and the Luminea Alliance in the east. As tensions reach a breaking point, the narrative focuses on a clone soldier named Alfonso. His journey begins with a pivotal moment triggered by a visit from a girl named Tarte, who brings news of a fellow clone's demise, setting Alfonso on a path that could alter the course of the war.
What’s the Gameplay Like?
Alphadia III maintains the series' tradition of turn-based combat, presented in a classic pixel art style with a side-view perspective. The game introduces several engaging systems, including SP Skills that accumulate during battles and can turn the tide when used strategically. Another feature is the Arrays system, which offers various battle formations and strategies that unlock as you progress, allowing for diverse combat approaches.
A novel addition to the gameplay is the Energi Crock. Players can deposit excess items into this Crock, which over time, converts them into Energi Elements. These can be exchanged for valuable gear or other items at designated shops within the game.
Players will encounter various factions, including the peacekeeping alliance Deval and elite military units like Rosenkreutz from Nordsheim. The game also introduces different energi clone models, such as the Berger Series from Nordsheim and the Delta Series from Schwarzschild.
Beyond the main storyline, Alphadia III offers a wealth of side content and is optimized for controller use. The game is available on the Google Play Store for $7.99, with a freemium version that includes advertisements also accessible on Android.
