DC Studios has just unveiled our first glimpse into their newest project, the "Lanterns" TV series, featuring not one, but two Green Lanterns. HBO has released the initial images of the show, spotlighting Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. Although they aren't donning the iconic emerald green suits in the photos, a keen eye will spot the Power Ring adorning Chandler's hand.

"Lanterns" is an eagerly anticipated DC TV series, styled as a detective drama that draws inspiration from acclaimed shows such as "True Detective" and "Slow Horses." The series follows Chandler's Hal Jordan teaming up with Pierre's John Stewart as they delve into a murder investigation that spirals into an even more sinister mystery. This series is confirmed to be a part of James Gunn's expansive DC universe, which also includes "Creature Commandos" and the forthcoming films "Superman" and "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."
The show has been developed by Damon Lindelof, known for his work on "Lost," alongside Chris Mundy and Tom King. James Gunn has promised a "very grounded, very believable, very real" narrative, which he says is unexpected for a Green Lanterns series.
Kyle Chandler, renowned for his role in "Friday Night Lights," takes on the role of an older Hal Jordan. Aaron Pierre, who made waves with his performance in "Rebel Ridge," steps into the shoes of John Stewart. The series is slated for a premiere in 2026, coinciding with the release of the "Supergirl" movie.
