How To Use Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Author : Olivia Jan 21,2025

The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone might have tools to accelerate this process. Here's how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.

Understanding Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Following the Season 01 update to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens within Black Ops 6. This led to a period of accelerated XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a November 15th update addressed this, disabling the activation of Legacy XP tokens directly within the Black Ops 6 interface, as noted in the Call of Duty Blog.

These Legacy XP Tokens are unused tokens carried over from previous Call of Duty games, accessible through the COD HQ app, including Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, such as DMZ Missions, Battle Pass Tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While initially usable in Black Ops 6, any tokens earned in these games remain accessible for use in Warzone. Here's how to use them effectively.

Using Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

At the launch of Season 01, players could activate their Warzone Legacy XP tokens directly within Black Ops 6. This is no longer directly possible due to the update. However, a workaround existed, allowing players to leverage these tokens to boost XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression in Black Ops 6.

This method involved activating the Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone. After activation, the token and its timer would appear in the Black Ops 6 UI. While requiring switching between games and operating on a real-time countdown, this workaround provided a significant XP boost.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
