Marvel Rivals Dev Dismisses PvE Rumors

Author : Henry Feb 24,2025

Marvel Rivals players eagerly anticipate future content additions, particularly a PvE mode. Recent rumors fueled speculation, but NetEase producer Weicong Wu clarified that a full-fledged PvE mode isn't currently planned. However, Wu stated the development team actively explores new gameplay modes, and a PvE mode could be implemented if a sufficiently engaging design emerges.

During a DICE Summit interview, Wu emphasized that a hardcore PvE experience would significantly deviate from the game's current structure. The team is experimenting with alternative approaches, potentially a less demanding, "lighter" PvE mode, such as a limited-time event. NetEase remains tight-lipped on specifics.

Despite the lack of immediate PvE plans, Marvel Rivals receives regular updates approximately every six weeks, introducing new characters. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated for release on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo also covered potential Nintendo Switch 2 support and addressed speculation regarding intentionally misleading dataminers with false hero leaks within the game's code.
