This map is specifically designed for the game's payload mode, known as Convoy. Here, players must either escort or thwart a moving vehicle as it travels from one end of the map to the other. Midtown joins the ranks of other Convoy maps like Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Set under the eerie darkness of Dracula's Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown offers a unique rendition of New York City. Key Points of Interest on this map include iconic Marvel locations and real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks such as:

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to *Marvel Rivals* in Season 1. This map is the exclusive home to the Doom Match mode, a free-for-all deathmatch where players battle to survive and eliminate others. The top half of the leaderboard at the end of the match are awarded wins, and the overall best player earns the coveted MVP title.
The Sanctum Santorum map is a stunning depiction of Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, serving as his home and headquarters. First introduced in a 1963 comic, it has since become widely recognized through its appearances in the MCU. In *Marvel Rivals*, the Sanctum Santorum acts as Earth's supernatural defense hub, complete with secrets, easter eggs, and supernatural elements like impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can even interact with Bats The Ghost Dog on the map.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Details on the Central Park map are still emerging, as it is scheduled to launch in the second half of *Marvel Rivals* Season 1. Located in Manhattan between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side, Central Park has been a setting in various Marvel properties, most notably in the 2023 *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* video game.
In *Marvel Rivals*, the Central Park map is set to feature a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. This Gothic architecture will fit perfectly into the Empire of Eternal Night theme, likely serving as a hideout for Dracula within New York City.
These are all the new maps introduced in *Marvel Rivals* Season 1, each offering unique gameplay experiences and stunning renditions of Marvel's New York.
