In their latest roadmap, Insomniac Games outlined their ambitious future plans but kept details about Marvel’s Wolverine under wraps. In a conversation with Variety, Insomniac Co-Head Chad Dezern expressed enthusiasm about the studio's new projects and roadmap but emphasized that they are not ready to share updates on Marvel’s Wolverine yet. Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021

Marvel’s Wolverine was first unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021 with a cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for the PlayStation 5. In a 2023 interview with the Kinda Funny YouTube group, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine shares the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, designated as "1048." Fans had hoped for crossover events or joint teasers, but the only connection so far is a Wolverine-themed suit named "The Best There Is" available for Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In December 2023, Insomniac Games faced a ransomware attack, which briefly exposed Marvel’s Wolverine development assets and gameplay footage to the public.
