Moonstone, Marvel Snap's newest Ongoing card, copies the effects of your other 1-, 2-, and 3-cost Ongoing cards in her lane. Think of her as a supercharged Mystique. However, building a successful deck around this powerful but fragile card—often called "the Glass Cannon"—presents a challenge.
After extensive testing, the two most effective Moonstone decks are Patriot and Tribunal-based strategies. This guide details how to build and optimize both. If you're unsure about adding Moonstone to your collection, a brief review at the end will help you decide.

The Best Deck for Moonstone
Moonstone excels in supporting roles, not as the primary win condition. A reliable setup uses her in a Patriot-Ultron deck. Focus on copying one or two key Ongoing effects rather than over-relying on her ability.
This Moonstone/Patriot/Ultron deck includes: Brood, Mystique, Dazzler, Mockingbird, Ant-Man, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, Blue Marvel, and Mister Sinister.

Moonstone Deck Synergies
- Set up buffs by playing Brood, Sinister, or Squirrel Girl.
- Use one lane for Patriot, Mystique, and Moonstone (ideally in that order).
- Play Ultron in the final round to maximize buffed locations.
- Iron Man, Blue Marvel, and Mockingbird provide backup power if needed.
An Alternative Deck for Moonstone
For a more exciting (though less consistent) approach, pair Moonstone with Onslaught and The Living Tribunal. Here, Moonstone becomes the win condition. Include: Onslaught, Living Tribunal, Mystique, Magik, Psylocke, Sera, Iron Man, Ravonna Renslayer, Captain America, Howard the Duck, and Iron Lad.

Ideal Play:
- Use Psylocke to play Moonstone early.
- Play Onslaught, Mystique, and Iron Man in her lane.
- In the final round, distribute power across lanes using The Living Tribunal.
Psylocke and Sera provide cost reduction, Magik extends the game, allowing for Onslaught and The Living Tribunal plays. Captain America and Iron Lad offer backup. While many predicted a Moonstone-Onslaught-Tribunal meta, Super Skrull proved to be a significant counter.
How to Counter Moonstone
Super Skrull effectively counters Moonstone. Since her release, many players have included him in their decks, anticipating Moonstone strategies. Enchantress, Rogue, and Echo are also effective counters.
Moonstone's vulnerability stems from her absorbing abilities only within her lane. Unless protected by cards like Invisible Woman, Enchantress, Echo, Rogue, or a Super Skrull in another lane can easily neutralize her.
Is Moonstone Worth It?
Moonstone is a worthwhile Spotlight Key investment because: 1) Her ability will become more valuable as more synergistic Ongoing cards are released; 2) She's in a Spotlight Cache with two other Series Five cards, reducing the risk of poor pulls; and 3) She offers nostalgic, high-impact gameplay. If you enjoy powerful combos, Moonstone is a great addition.
