NBA 2K25 Releases First 2025 Update

NBA 2K25's significant January update paves the way for Season 4 (launching January 10th) and delivers substantial gameplay enhancements and visual improvements. This patch addresses numerous issues across various game modes, including MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and MyNBA.

Key improvements include updated player likenesses (e.g., Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid), court refinements (Los Angeles Clippers court logo, Emirates NBA Cup court), and uniform adjustments (sponsor patches). The update also resolves a rare online hang, corrects leaderboard rankings, and ensures accurate team details.

Patch 4.0 Gameplay Enhancements:

This update focuses on enhancing realism and player control. "Light Pressure" shot defense is now categorized into Weak, Moderate, and Strong, providing more granular shot feedback. Ball-rim physics have been tweaked to reduce excessively long rebounds. Defensive mechanics have been adjusted to prevent unfair disruption of skill dunks, and the Offensive 3 Seconds rule is now enforced in 1v1 modes. Performance and stability improvements have been implemented for City and Pro-Am modes.

Mode-Specific Fixes:

  • MyCAREER: Progression adjustments ensure proper badge unlocks and prevent skipped NBA Cup games.
  • MyTEAM: Visual updates to player cards and menus, along with fixes for saving Favorite Plays and challenge progression blockers.
