Mark your calendars! Square Enix is hosting a special livestream on their YouTube channel to commemorate the NieR series' 15th anniversary. This isn't just any livestream; it features a star-studded lineup of key figures behind the series' success. Expect appearances from NieR creator and Creative Director Yoko Taro, Producer Yosuke Saito, Composer Keiichi Okabe, Senior Game Designer Takahisa Taura, and the voice actor behind Grimoire Weiss and Pod 042, Hiroki Yasumoto. The event will also include a mini-live performance and other exciting anniversary announcements.

Interestingly, the promotional image features art from the now-closed NieR Reincarnation mobile game. This has sparked speculation about potential future projects related to the mobile title or simply a nod to its place in the series' history.

The livestream begins April 19, 2025, at 2 AM PT on Square Enix's YouTube channel. With an estimated runtime of 2.5 hours, anticipation is high for major announcements.

Hints of a new NieR game have been subtly dropped by Producer Yosuke Saito. In a December 2024 interview with 4Gamer, Saito alluded to the upcoming anniversary and hinted at potential new game development or other significant series-related projects.

The last mainline entry in the series was NieR: Automata in 2017, followed by the NieR Replicant remaster-remake. While there's been no official confirmation from Square Enix, the upcoming anniversary livestream has fueled intense speculation among fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the NieR saga.
