At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner named Ikaboze completed an impressive feat by beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch 2 in just under 10 minutes. As reported by VGC, Ikaboze used an existing save file, not knowing the equipment Link possessed, and chose to challenge the final boss, Ganon, "completely naked and with all my equipment removed." Despite using an unfamiliar controller and being unable to hear the game due to the convention hall's noise, Ikaboze defeated Ganon in seven minutes, prompting spontaneous applause from onlookers.
Ikaboze expressed surprise at the large crowd and the attention from staff, who were filming the event on their smartphones. He noted that this was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo at the event, and the staff congratulated him on his achievement.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild offers improved visuals and performance, along with achievements and the new "Zelda Notes" service available through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to these new features for $10. Additionally, both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are available at no extra cost for Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
