Odin: Valhalla Rising is launching this year as Kakao Games brings their hit MMORPG global

Author : Claire Apr 01,2025

Kakao Games is set to bring the Norse-inspired MMORPG, Odin: Valhalla Rising, to a global audience this year. The game has already achieved over 17 million downloads in Asia, showcasing its immense popularity. Players will have the opportunity to explore four of the nine realms from Norse mythology: Midgard, Jotunheim, Nidavellir, and Alfheim. The game promises an almost-seamless exploration experience, enhanced by crossplay functionality between mobile and PC platforms.

Longtime readers of the site might remember that back in 2022, Catherine covered the upcoming release of Odin: Valhalla Rising. If you were captivated by the game's take on Norse mythology and eager to dive in, you're in luck. Kakao Games has announced that pre-registration for the global launch will begin on April 3rd. This will allow players to reserve their character names and secure server spots. Additionally, a stunning new trailer has been released, giving a glimpse into the epic adventures that await.

In Odin: Valhalla Rising, players can traverse the vast landscapes using mounts that travel both on land and through the sky. The game offers a wealth of activities, from uncovering hidden treasures to scaling majestic mountains, all set within the rich tapestry of Norse mythology.

Odin: Valhalla Rising - Norse Mythology MMORPG

The game features four initial classes: Warrior, Sorceress, Priest, and Rogue, each designed to cater to different playstyles. With its next-generation quality, powered by Unreal Engine graphics, Odin: Valhalla Rising boasts minimal loading screens and visually stunning environments that truly bring the Norse setting to life. This combination of features might just push your device to its limits.

Since its initial release in Korea in 2021, Odin: Valhalla Rising has been a massive hit. As Kakao Games prepares for its global launch, the question remains whether it can maintain its appeal nearly half a decade later. If the promised features hold true, the game is poised for continued success.
