Owlcat Games Expands into Game Publishing

Owlcat Games, renowned for its critically acclaimed cRPGs like Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, has announced a significant expansion into game publishing. This strategic move, following their acquisition of META Publishing in 2021, aims to support and amplify narrative-driven games from other developers.

Initial Publishing Portfolio

Owlcat has already partnered with two promising studios:

  • Emotion Spark Studio (Serbia): Developing Rue Valley, a narrative RPG centered around a protagonist trapped in a time loop within a remote town. The game explores themes of mental health and personal growth.
  • Another Angle Games (Poland): Developing Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan, blending samurai culture with steampunk technology and tactical turn-based combat.

Both Rue Valley and Shadow of the Road are in early development, with more details expected soon. These partnerships highlight Owlcat's commitment to diverse and engaging narratives, showcasing emerging talent and enriching the landscape of story-driven games. Owlcat plans to share further updates on these projects as development progresses.
