Obtaining the Music Box in Phasmophobia
Similar to other cursed items in Phasmophobia, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its appearance is entirely random; there's no guaranteed method to obtain one. Only a single Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to activate its unique properties.
Using the Music Box
Several strategies involve the Music Box. Once activated, it plays a song. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing" along, revealing its proximity. Within five meters, the ghost will approach the Box. You can place the activated Box on the ground as a lure. The song ends automatically, and the Box closes. Note that holding the Box decreases your sanity.
Triggering a Hunt with the Music Box
The Music Box can initiate either a cursed or standard hunt, depending on specific circumstances:
- Throwing the active Box.
- Reaching 0% sanity while holding the active Box.
- The ghost approaching the Box for over five seconds.
- The ghost's proximity to the player holding the active Box.
For optimal use, carry additional tools like Smudge Sticks to increase your survival chances during a hunt, allowing you to identify the ghost or complete other objectives.
