As the Pickaxe is part of the Northern Expedition content, you'll find it in the new Fisch areas—specifically, within the mountain camps. First, reach the Northern Summit. This is straightforward: swim to the open sea and navigate to the Northern Expedition marker.
There, you'll find a portal transporting you to a new sea containing the Northern Summit. This island is a large mountain with intricate paths and a very cold climate.
