Assassin’s Creed Shadows: A Closer Look at the Release
Mackenyu Arata as Gennojo: A Key Player in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Famous for his portrayal of Roronoa Zoro in the One Piece live-action adaptation, Mackenyu will voice Gennojo in both Japanese and English. Gennojo, a significant character in Assassin's Creed Shadows' feudal Japan setting, will play a crucial role in assisting the protagonist. Ubisoft describes him as instrumental in "tracking and eliminating a crucial target."
Ubisoft further elaborates on Gennojo's personality: "Gennojo is a charming, reckless, and deeply conflicted individual, driven by guilt to dismantle a corrupt system. He's a flirtatious rogue and a trickster, balancing wit, deceit, and swagger. Motivated by a strong desire for justice, particularly for the vulnerable, he's willing to risk everything to achieve his goals, despite his rough exterior."
While the exact point of Gennojo's introduction remains undisclosed, his importance to the game's missions is confirmed. Mackenyu reveals Gennojo's affiliation with the "Shinobi League" and hints at the possibility of recruiting him as a companion throughout the game.
