Pizza Tower, Castlevania Dominus Collection: Today's Releases and Sales

Author : Harper May 21,2025

Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024. Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, including a slew of shadow-dropped games. As a result, our typically quiet Wednesday is buzzing with activity, and that's a good thing! Today, we'll cover the latest news, explore the new releases on the eShop, and bring you the usual lists of new and expiring sales. Let's dive in!

News

The Partner/Indie World Showcase Had Plenty to Offer

Combining two slightly smaller versions of the usual Directs was an interesting move, resulting in a flurry of announcements. While I can't list them all here, some highlights include shadow drops (which we'll discuss in the New Releases section), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, remakes of Suikoden I & II, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, and new titles in the Atelier and Rune Factory series, among many others. It's worth setting aside some time to watch the video—skim if you must. There's something for everyone in this showcase.

Select New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

One of the standout shadow drops from the Direct is the third Castlevania collection, featuring the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the arcade game Haunted Castle, along with a superior remake by M2. As expected from this developer, the collection boasts excellent emulation and a comprehensive feature set, making it an incredible value at the price.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer has made its way to the Switch via a shadow drop during the Direct. Navigate through the five sprawling floors of the Pizza Tower to destroy it and save your restaurant. If you're nostalgic for Wario's handheld adventures, you'll definitely want to check this out. Even if you're not a Wario fan but enjoy platforming, give Pizza Tower a try. We're hoping to review it soon, so stay tuned.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

The shadow drops keep coming. On a typically quiet Wednesday, these releases are a welcome surprise. Goat Simulator 3 continues the chaotic fun of its predecessor. While I can't vouch for its performance on the Switch, I know it has struggled on more powerful consoles at times. Approach with caution, but remember, even if it runs poorly, it might just add to the game's quirky charm. Silly goats causing mayhem in an open world—will it make your Switch struggle? Only one way to find out.

Peglin ($19.99)

It's easy to say companies miss opportunities, but Electronic Arts truly missed the mark by not bringing Popcap's games to the Switch. Peglin fills that void for Peggle enthusiasts. Available on mobile for a while, it now brings its blend of Peggle and turn-based RPG roguelite gameplay to the Switch. We'll have a review soon for those looking for more details.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

How does Kairosoft refresh its well-known simulation game formula? By adding a popular license, of course. Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story is a standard Kairosoft shop sim, but it's infused with characters from the beloved Doraemon series. There's even a nod to other works by the manga artist with cameo appearances. A cute and charming addition to the Kairosoft lineup.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

For fans of the original Pico Park, Pico Park 2 offers more of the cooperative puzzle fun you love. With up to eight players joining via local or online multiplayer, the more, the merrier. While it might not draw in new players, it's a solid continuation for existing fans.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game featuring music from Kamitsubaki Studio, Kamitsubaki City Ensemble offers straightforward gameplay and storytelling. At this price, it's a budget-friendly way to enjoy some tunes and test your rhythm skills.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

If you're into Sokoban-style puzzle games, SokoPenguin delivers with a penguin twist. With 100 levels, you know if it's up your alley.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Offering over 300 quirky physics-based puzzles, Q2 Humanity now includes character abilities alongside drawing mechanics to solve challenges. With support for up to four players in local or online multiplayer, it's a fun group activity.
