While Brown stated in a February 25, 2025 interview with VGC that they constantly evaluate potential additions to the competitive scene, Pokémon TCG Pocket isn't currently under consideration. He playfully mentioned Pokémon Sleep as another example, referencing a past April Fool's joke about a Pokémon Sleep championship, but emphasized that there are currently no plans for Pokémon TCG Pocket.
Why the Wait? Early Stages and Balancing
While no official reasons have been given, several factors likely contribute to this decision. Pokémon TCG Pocket is still relatively new, having launched only four months prior in October 2024, with just two sets released since. Although the app includes competitive features, balancing issues persist, a common concern among players.
