Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: Get Ready for Festive Fun!
Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd), this event offers a fresh wave of festive activities.
One of the event's highlights is the boosted XP reward: catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn 2,025 XP each! Enjoy the immersive atmosphere with festive decorations and celebratory fireworks lighting up the sky.
Expect increased encounters with special Pokémon dressed for the occasion. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat), and their shiny variants!
Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids will challenge you with party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three have increased Shiny rates during the event.
