Project Tower: How to Beat Kupolovrax

Author : Zachary Jan 16,2025

Kupolovrax is a boss in Project Tower that may give players some trouble. Indeed, this foe's projectile-based offense can be difficult to avoid, and fans may die many times as they attempt to bring the enemy down. There are some strategies that can be used that make it easier to beat Kupolovrax in Project Tower, though, and they are detailed in this guide.

While Kupolovrax's design seems to suggest that players are to fire into its illuminated segments, shots that hit the foe's carapace also appear to do damage.

Project Tower: Kupolovrax Boss Guide

Phase 1

The fight against Kupolovrax begins with the enemy standing on the platform, and players should simply maintain some distance from the foe, repeatedly fire their weapons into it, and use these strategies to avoid its various attacks:

  • Orb Ring Fall: This attack sees Kupolovrax summon a series of orb rings, which fall from the perimeter of the platform to its center. To avoid this attack, players should look up as the rings fall and dodge roll just before an orb hits them.
  • Orb Scattershot Fall: This attack is similar to the orb ring fall, though the projectiles assume a scattershot configuration this time around. This configuration is actually easier to avoid than the rings, as fans of third-person shooters can simply look up and strafe around them as they fall. Once again, dodge roll is a good way to avoid an orb that is certain to make contact.
  • Orb Line Push: This is, perhaps, the hardest attack to avoid in Phase 1, and it centers around Kupolovrax sending several lines of orbs directly at the player. While it is possible to avoid the orbs simply by strafing left and right into the gaps, players may find it easier to wait for the first line to get close, dodge roll forward, and then immediately dash forward.
  • Stomp: Kupolovrax will occasionally stomp and send out a shockwave. Fans of bullet hell games can easily jump over that shockwave, and they can even continue shooting the foe during the maneuver.

Phase 2

Kupolovrax takes flight at around 66% health, and fans of games with morphing mechanics should continue to maintain space and shoot the foe while using these strategies to avoid its projectiles:

  • Orb Scattershot Fall: With this attack, Kupolovrax shoots many orbs into the air, which slowly fall to the ground. Due to the slow speed of these orbs, players should be able to avoid them quite easily by keeping an eye on the sky and strafing into the gaps.
  • Orb Ring Push: Kupolovrax pushes several rings of orbs forward with this attack, and those rings ultimately close in on the player. To avoid it, fans of indie games should hold their position until just before the orbs are guaranteed to hit them and then dodge roll left or right.
  • Orb Line Push: This attack is similar to ther orb line push from Phase 1, and players can once again avoid it by waiting for the first line to get close, dodge rolling forward, and then immediately dashing forward. Fans can also try avoiding the first line with a dodge roll to the left or right and then immediately perform a dash in the opposite direction.

Phase 3

The final phase is triggered when Kupolovrax is at around 33% health, and it is very similar to Phase 2. That said, the enemy does have a modified attack that fans of 3D action games must avoid while they work to fully drain its health:

  • Modified Orb Ring Push: This attack is made up of three parts: a series of rings that close in on the player, followed by two quick ring pushes, followed by falling orb rings. To avoid it, players should hold their position until just before the rings are guaranteed to hit them and then dodge roll left. Fans of games with platforming puzzles should then immediately dash right, to avoid the two quick rings, and walk forward to avoid the falling orbs.

Project Tower is available for PC and PS5.
