PlayStation 5 Beta Update Enhances Audio, Remote Play, and Charging
A new PlayStation 5 beta update is rolling out, bringing several quality-of-life improvements. Announced by Sony's VP of Product Management, Hiromi Wakai, the update includes personalized 3D audio, enhanced Remote Play controls, and adaptive charging for controllers.

- Personalized 3D Audio: Create custom audio profiles for headphones and earbuds (like the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore) to optimize sound for your hearing. This improves in-game spatial awareness.

Adaptive Charging (Slim PS5): For owners of the slim PS5 model, this feature intelligently manages controller charging while the console is in rest mode, conserving energy. Enable it through
Settings>System>Power Saving>Features Available in Rest Mode>Supply Power to USB Ports>Adaptive.
Beta and Global Rollout:
The beta is initially available to select users in the U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., Germany, and France. A broader release is planned in the coming months. Invited participants will receive email instructions. Note that features may change or be removed before the final release based on user feedback. Sony actively seeks community input to refine the PS5 experience.
Building on Previous Updates:
This update follows the recent addition of URL linking for game sessions (Version 24.05-09.60.00), allowing players to share session links via QR codes for easier joining. This new beta further enhances the PS5 gaming experience with improved personalization and control.
