The Asus ROG Ally Charger Dock is an invaluable accessory if you're looking to connect your ROG Ally to an external monitor and use additional peripherals. While the Asus ROG Ally comes with a basic charger, it lacks a docking station. The design of the charger dock resembles a simple brick-style charger but includes three ports instead of one. The USB Type-C output supports up to 60W of Power Delivery, nearly reaching the ROG Ally's maximum charging rate. Additionally, there's a USB Type-A port for connecting a keyboard, mouse, or USB storage, and a 4K @ 60Hz HDMI 2.0 port for linking to an external TV or monitor.

Also compatible with Steam Deck

You can also use this dock to charge your Steam Deck and output its video to a larger monitor or TV. The Steam Deck can accept up to 38W via USB Type-C Power Delivery, well within the charger's 60W maximum output. The official Steam Deck docking station retails for $79, making the Asus charger a more budget-friendly option. If you're in the market for a charger dock that doubles as a stand for your Steam Deck, you might find the next deal more appealing.

Anker offers its own docking solution compatible with both the Asus ROG Ally and Steam Deck, currently available for $29.74. This model features a slot that allows you to slide in your Steam Deck or ROG Ally console. It boasts a range of features including a USB Type-C port with 100W of Power Delivery, a 1Gbps ethernet port, two USB Type-A 5Gbps ports, an additional USB Type-C 5Gbps port, and a 4K HDMI 2.0 port. It also includes an integrated USB Type-C cable with a 90-degree connector for easy connection to the top of your console. While larger than the Asus charger, the Anker docking station is built with a durable aluminum shell. The only consideration is that the slot is designed for a bare Steam Deck or ROG Ally; if you have a case, you may need to remove it for a proper fit.

Note that with CES 2025 behind us, the handheld gaming PC market is heating up with new competition. The more compact and updated Lenovo Legion Go S has been announced and is available for preorder. A more budget-friendly option will follow in May 2025, featuring the same Z2 Go chip but with 16GB of RAM and a choice between Windows 11 or SteamOS, starting at $599. Additionally, the Asus ROG Ally X, released in 2024, offers an enhanced gaming experience over the original ROG Ally.
