Sims Labs: Town Stories Debuts as EA

A new Sims game is in the works, and it's available now in Australia! While not the Sims 5 many have anticipated, "The Sims Labs: Town Stories" offers a mobile simulation experience, currently in its playtest phase. This new title is part of EA's broader Sims Labs initiative, a testing ground for future franchise features and gameplay mechanics.

Though not yet globally available for download on Google Play, interested players can register through EA's website for a chance to participate. This Australian-exclusive playtest allows EA to gather feedback on new ideas.

Initial Reactions to The Sims Labs: Town Stories

The game's initial reception has been mixed, with some online criticism focused on the graphics and concerns about potential microtransactions. The gameplay itself blends classic Sims building with character-driven narratives. Players construct neighbourhoods, assist residents, manage careers, and uncover secrets within the game's setting, Plumbrook.

Early footage and screenshots suggest a familiar feel, consistent with its role as an experimental project. EA is likely using this title to refine concepts for future development.

Interested players in Australia can find the game on the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for our upcoming coverage of Shop Titans' Halloween event!
