Spider-Man Animated Series on Disney+ Already Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3

Author : Savannah Feb 28,2025

Marvel's animated "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" series, chronicling Peter Parker's freshman year, has received a double renewal, securing both Season 2 and Season 3.

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed in an interview with The Movie Podcast that Season 2's scripts are complete, with half the animatics already finished, even before Season 1's premiere on January 29th. The greenlight for Season 3 has also been given.

Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the series and the characters, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters...we're halfway through the animatics. What [Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off." He further emphasized the deepening emotional connection with the characters throughout the planned seasons.

While Winderbaum confirmed upcoming meetings with lead writer Jeff Trammell to discuss Season 3's direction, specific release dates for either Season 2 or 3 remain undisclosed.

The series follows Peter Parker's high school journey as he develops his superpowers. Whether subsequent seasons will directly correspond to his sophomore and junior years, or explore alternate storylines within his freshman year, remains to be seen.
