STALKER 2 devs are thankful for selling 1 million copies in just two days on both Steam and Xbox consoles. They've also announced an upcoming patch to further enhance the game. Dive in to discover more about its stellar launch and the first patch on the horizon!
Stalker 2 Achieved Impressive Sales in Just a Short Period
Stalker 2 Devs Deeply Thankful for its Strong Initial Sales
The Chornobyl Exclusion Zone is buzzing with activity, thanks to the overwhelming success of STALKER 2. GSC Game World proudly announced that the game sold a staggering 1 million copies within just two days of its launch on Steam and Xbox Series X|S. Released on November 20, 2024, STALKER 2 has captivated players, inviting them into the heart of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone to battle and survive against hostile NPCs and mutated creatures.
While the 1 million copies sold reflect sales on Steam and Xbox, the total player base is even larger, thanks to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Although the exact number of Game Pass players remains undisclosed, it's clear that the actual player count surpasses the reported sales figures. The developers expressed their deep gratitude to the STALKER 2 community, stating, "This is just the start of our unforgettable adventure. With gratitude as deep as the X-labs network, we want to say: Thank You, stalkers!"
Devs Asked Players to Report Bugs
Despite its successful launch, STALKER 2 is not without its challenges. On November 21, the developers reached out to players for help in refining the game. "We are constantly improving the game with hotfixes and patches, but to find the ‘anomalies’ to fix, we need your help," they stated.
To facilitate this process, GSC Game World has set up a dedicated website for players to report bugs, share feedback, or request new features. If you encounter any issues, such as strange behavior, crashes, or uncertainties about game functionality, you're encouraged to visit the Technical Support assistance webpage. Additionally, the Technical Support Hub's main page offers FAQs and troubleshooting guides to help players navigate common issues.
The developers advise against using the STALKER 2 Steam page to report bugs, suggesting instead that players use the dedicated website. "Please, refer to this website as your first source for help with technical issues. If you create the topic on the Steam Forum - there are fewer chances that it will be reviewed," they explained.
First Post-Release Patch Coming This Week
Responding to player feedback, the developers announced the first post-release patch for STALKER 2, set to roll out during the week following November 24. "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is getting a first patch during the week to come — both on PC and Xbox," they shared on the game's Steam page.
This patch aims to address critical issues such as crashes and main quest progression blocks, alongside enhancing gameplay and making balance adjustments. It will also correct weapon prices, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for players. The developers noted that future updates will tackle improvements to the analog stick and A-Life systems.
In their closing remarks, the developers reaffirmed their commitment to continually improving STALKER 2. "We want to reassure you once more that we will make every effort to constantly improve your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl experience," they stated. "We are truly grateful for your feedback and suggestions for improvement."
