Hearthstone's upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st, boasts a record-breaking 49 new cards. This expansion, a crossover with Blizzard's StarCraft universe, introduces class and multi-class cards themed around the Zerg, Protoss, and Terran factions.
The Mini-Set's design incorporates StarCraft-inspired mechanics. Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock players will utilize Zerg-themed cards focused on summoning Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks. Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue players gain access to Protoss cards emphasizing mana manipulation for powerful card plays. Finally, Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior players will utilize the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond, featuring new Starship Pieces and strategies. A single neutral Legendary card, Grunty, rounds out the collection.
Acquiring the complete Mini-Set costs $20 (or 2500 gold), a slight increase from previous Mini-Sets. A golden version is available for $80 (or 12,000 gold). Alternatively, players can purchase individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) for $10 (or 1200 gold) each.
To celebrate the release, Hearthstone is hosting two streamed events: StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST) featuring StarCraft personalities TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST) showcasing Hearthstone community creators. Viewers can earn free packs by watching these Twitch streams.
