Subway Surfers City Unleashed in Stealthy iOS, Android Launch

Author : Matthew Feb 11,2025

Sybo Games has quietly released a new mobile title, Subway Surfers City, on iOS and Android. This soft launch, currently limited to select regions, offers a sequel to the wildly popular Subway Surfers, boasting improved graphics and many features accumulated over the original's long lifespan.

The game features returning characters from the original Subway Surfers, along with newer additions like hoverboards, all rendered with updated visuals. This is a significant move, given the original's age and the limitations of its Unity engine.

Currently, the iOS soft launch includes the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines. Android users can access it in Denmark and the Philippines.

A Bold Move for Sybo

Creating a sequel to their most successful game is a calculated risk for Sybo. The aging Unity engine likely spurred this decision, limiting the potential of further updates to the original. The stealth launch approach is intriguing, particularly considering Subway Surfers' global popularity.

Player reaction to Subway Surfers City will be closely watched, along with the anticipated full release date. We eagerly await its wider availability.
