According to a source known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is poised to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14 to 16. The insider claims that this sequel, codenamed Siege X, will operate on an enhanced engine, boasting improved graphics with revamped textures and models. Additionally, Ubisoft reportedly plans to shift focus from old temporary events to introducing fresh, new events. The game is slated for release in the second season of the tenth year of support, which would be mid-2025.
Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel wasn't necessary given the ongoing development of the current game. However, if this leak turns out to be accurate, it appears Ubisoft might have reconsidered its stance.
It's crucial to approach such rumors with caution. Without an official statement from Ubisoft, all this remains speculative.
The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is on the horizon, set to take place in Boston. Here, twenty teams will vie for a portion of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, marks the final team to secure a spot.
A competition featuring twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft might opt for the format used in the previous year—four groups engaging in a round-robin among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—we could be in for a surprise with a new format.
In this setup, the first place team skips the first round, the fourth place team starts in the lower bracket, the other teams enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last team from each group of five faces elimination.
