Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the initial chapter of their new narrative adventure. Players can currently experience Tape 1, with Tape 2 launching as a free update for all owners on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close group of friends fractured during a fateful summer in 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specters of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Inspired by It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game expertly blends nostalgic elements with the suspense of a psychological thriller. The developers have structured the game into two parts – Bloom and Rage. As of February 18th, only the first half of this captivating mystery is accessible.
The second part, dubbed "The Tape," will be released on April 15th. Its initial March release was delayed to allow for further refinement.
The review embargo has been lifted, with OpenCritic reporting an average score of 74/100, indicating a promising start for this gripping narrative.
