World of Warcraft enthusiasts keen on mysteries and exclusive rewards should take note: Alyx, the pivotal NPC from the 20th anniversary's Guest Relations mystery questlines, has found a new home in Dornogal. Positioned at the hot springs northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters, near the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall, Alyx now sports the title "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things." This relocation allows players to continue their quest for the coveted Detective title, a crucial step toward unlocking the enigmatic Felcycle mount, Incognitro.
Although the 20th anniversary event has concluded, taking with it its array of activities, rewards, and buffs, Alyx remains a beacon for those still seeking the thrill of the hunt. The NPC's board of notes, now a permanent fixture in Dornogal, provides crucial clues to locate 11 missing Celebration Crates scattered across the world. Players can embark on this adventure once they reach level 10, though access to Dornogal itself requires hitting level 68.
Earning the Detective Title After the WoW Anniversary
- Locate Alyx, the Lightforged Draenei NPC, and their clue board in Dornogal, situated between the Delver’s Headquarters and the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall.
- Use the notes on the board to track down the 11 missing Celebration Crates throughout World of Warcraft.
- Submit six crates to Alyx to earn the Crate Insurance Agent achievement, and all 11 to secure the No Crate Left Behind, Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, and the much-sought-after Detective title.
The move of Alyx to Dornogal is a game-changer, ensuring that the path to the Detective title, and subsequently the Incognitro mount, remains open indefinitely. This means no World of Warcraft player will be locked out of this rare mount, a relief for those who missed the anniversary event.
However, not all is preserved from the anniversary celebration. The other Guest Relations quests, which were deeply intertwined with the event's setting in the Caverns of Time, are no longer accessible. This closure means achievements like Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats, along with their unique Thinking Cap transmogs, are now out of reach. While it's unlikely that World of Warcraft will revive this specific storyline, the game might introduce alternative methods to obtain these rewards in the future.
