Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Launches with Major Update 7.0 Changes

Author : Ethan Apr 16,2025

The first public test server for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has gone live, providing an early glimpse into the eagerly anticipated Update 7.0 and its accompanying patch notes. In a community post, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive disclosed that these preliminary notes for the PTS version encompass "most" of the 7.0 update features. However, they emphasized that the final version of the 7.0 patch notes might vary as the team continues to refine and fix bugs.

For PC players diving into the PTS, Update 7.0 introduces a wealth of new content, including a new PvE mission called Exfiltration, a new secondary weapon—the Inferno Pistol—available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes, prestige ranks focused on endgame PvE, and private PvP lobbies. Fans of Warhammer 40,000 will appreciate the new customization options, featuring fresh colors like Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with recoloring options for Bulwark cloth and hands. PvP customization rewards have also been enhanced by 50%. Additionally, the PTS offers exclusive skins such as the Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.

Significant balance changes accompany this update, with an expanded weapon arsenal in PvE allowing all classes a broader weapon selection. Notably, the Assault class can now wield the Power Sword without mods. Players should consult the detailed patch notes to understand the full scope of weapon adjustments.

A notable gameplay improvement addresses the griefing issue on the Inferno Operation. Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, others will be teleported there after a brief delay, ensuring progress isn't stalled by uncooperative players.

Here are the highlights of the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Update 7.0 PTS Patch Notes:

The development team's efforts to stamp out issues related to 'FOMO' community events and address content concerns earlier this year reflect their commitment to enhancing the player experience. As Space Marine 2 continues to evolve, the community eagerly awaits the full rollout of Update 7.0, promising an enriched and balanced gameplay experience.
