Wuthering Waves: Unravel the Knightly Quest

Author : Lucas Feb 24,2025

This guide details the "The Last Knight" side quest in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves region. It's a relatively short quest, but offers rewards and a unique storyline.

Quick Links

The Last Knight side quest adds depth to the Rinascita area, offering a different perspective than the main storyline. While less expansive than some other quests, it provides worthwhile rewards and a compelling narrative. This walkthrough simplifies the process.

Starting the Quest

To begin, complete Chapter 2 of the main storyline, including the "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing" quest. It's strongly recommended to finish Chapter 2, Act 3 before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until then. After completing the prerequisite quest, locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house by the main road, marked by a blue quest marker.

The Night Reveries Performance

This involves participating in a performance about a legendary knight. To trigger the encounter, advance the in-game time to between 6 PM and 6 AM. Then, go to the central pool in Egla Town to battle the Mad Knight. This enemy isn't particularly difficult; use your strongest attacks.

Mimic Chests Challenge

After defeating the Mad Knight, fly to the location marked on your map near the tallest tower. Carlow will be unconscious near a large purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to an area with several chests. The first three are genuine; however, in the subsequent set, only one is real. The correct chest is the second one in the middle-left. Opening it yields Astrites and other rewards, but be prepared to fight the mimic chests that attack afterward.

Investigating the Knight's Trail

Next, visit the locations indicated on your map, interacting with NPCs along the way.

After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, follow the quest marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop enemy with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. Equipping a Questless Knight Echo is recommended for parrying and stunning this enemy. Defeating it reveals the truth about the legendary knight.

Finding Carlow

Return to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in a town plaza. He'll be challenged by knights. The quest concludes after Carlow accepts a duel, signifying his shift in perspective. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and resources as rewards.
