As a long-time PC gamer who's usually content with the bounty of Steam sales, I never felt the pull of Xbox Game Pass—until yesterday. The surprise release of *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered* by Bethesda and Virtuos directly onto Game Pass was a game-changer for me. The remaster, which hit PC, consoles, and Game Pass on April 22, had me downloading all day and reveling in its nostalgic tunes all night. The updated version boasts new character models, revamped combat interactions, and enhanced visual effects. While it introduces over five new voice actors, it retains the beloved, albeit quirky, dialogue from the original. Priced at $49.99 for the base edition (including the original DLCs), with a deluxe version available for $10 more, it's a steal on Game Pass.

Hot on its heels, *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, the eagerly awaited debut from French studio Sandfall Interactive, is set to launch at midnight PST tonight in the U.S. Boasting a stellar 92 rating on Metacritic and a glowing 9/10 from IGN for its story design and nostalgic JRPG vibes, this game has captured my attention. Its stylish UI evokes memories of the Persona series, and the turn-based combat system is one of the most innovative I've seen. Like Oblivion Remastered, it's priced at $49.99 for the base edition.
While *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33* was initially positioned as the star of April's Game Pass lineup, the unexpected release of *Oblivion Remastered* has somewhat overshadowed it. However, I see this as a win-win situation. With Game Pass, I can enjoy both gems without breaking the bank. Instead of spending $100 on two new games, I opted for a $20 Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The only dilemma now is finding time to step away from the screen.
Game Pass has been adding more of 2025's biggest titles, including *Blue Prince*, *South of Midnight*, and *Avowed*, alongside classics like *GTA V* and the entire *Call of Duty* series. There truly is something for every type of gamer.
Game Pass Is a Ridiculously Good Deal Right Now
Game Pass Ultimate, starting at $19.99/month, offers access to the full Game Pass library across console, PC, and cloud gaming. The PC-only version is more budget-friendly at $9.99/month. Standard and Core tiers, at $14.99/month and $9.99/month respectively, don't include day one releases. The last price increase was in July 2024, and with such high-profile game launches, another hike might be on the horizon this year.
Although there aren't any current Game Pass deals, securing a three-month subscription could shield you from future price increases. For deals on other platforms, check out our roundup of PS5, PC, and Switch offers. And don't miss out—U.S. preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 go live tonight.
