Squares: Master the Daily Word Puzzle Challenge!
Squares is a daily word puzzle game demanding both strategy and word-finding skills. Your objective? Fill squares on a grid to create words and maximize your score.
How to Play:
Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to form words. The aim is to discover all the words hidden within the letter grid and achieve the highest possible score.
Game Rules:
- Scoring: Each letter in a word earns you one point (e.g., a five-letter word scores five points).
- Minimum Word Length: Words must contain at least four letters.
- Letter Usage: Each tile can only be used once per word.
- Excluded Words: Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are not included in the main word list.
Bonus Challenges:
- Bonus Words: Uncommon, archaic, or slang terms are considered bonus words. These don't add to your score but appear on a separate bonus word list. You can continue searching for them even after finding all the main words.
- Word of the Day: Each puzzle features a special, often longer bonus word. Finding it rewards you with two extra hints!
Game Features:
- Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available every day at midnight.
- Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom right corner for a fresh perspective.
- Letter Hints: After discovering 40% of the words, a hint system activates. Numbers appear on each letter, indicating how many words begin with that letter. An absent number means no words start with that letter. Letters turning orange are no longer used in main words but might appear in bonus words.
- Hints System: Each puzzle provides 3-5 hints (lightbulb icons). Using a hint reveals the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints depends on puzzle difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends earns you an additional hint!
