ASTRA: Knights of Veda Bids Farewell to English Dubbing

Following a trend among gacha games, ASTRA: Knights of Veda will be removing its English voiceovers after maintenance on January 23, 2025. This decision, announced by developer FLINT on January 20th, aims to enhance game stability and improve the quality of other language localizations.

The upcoming maintenance will also remove support for German, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Italian. However, Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Thai, and Russian will remain. While English text will still be available, in-game voice acting will default to Japanese for players outside Korea. FLINT assures players that this change won't affect in-game chat functionality in any previously supported language.

This move follows similar decisions by other gacha game developers. Square Enix's War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Yostar Games' Aether Gazer, and Amazing Seasun Games' Snowbreak: Containment Zone have all either partially or completely removed English voiceovers, citing reasons such as prioritizing the dominant player language (Japanese) and managing resource allocation to ensure long-term game sustainability and improvements in other areas.

The removal of English voiceovers, while potentially disappointing to some players, reflects a growing trend in the gacha industry to balance language support with long-term development and resource management. The developers emphasize their commitment to providing a better overall gaming experience.
