A Baldur's Gate 3 enthusiast and YouTuber, Proxy Gate Tactician (PGT), has offered a $500 reward for a verifiable, unmodded playthrough triggering a specific Karlach cutscene. This cutscene, where Karlach seemingly acknowledges her existence within the game, has baffled players since its initial discovery.

Baldur's Gate 3's immense success stems partly from its meticulous detail. However, this unusual Karlach moment, seemingly breaking the fourth wall, adds an intriguing layer of mystery. Initial speculation suggested it was inaccessible without modding. However, Karlach's voice actress, Samantha Beart, hinted at its organic triggerability, promising further explanation once a player demonstrated it.

PGT's challenge stems from conflicting reports. While some claim to have witnessed the cutscene in vanilla gameplay, no concrete proof exists. Previous data mining suggests the cutscene is unattainable without game file modification. PGT believes it's likely non-existent in the standard game, but the $500 bounty offers a compelling incentive to prove otherwise.

The challenge rules are straightforward: Record the cutscene and its trigger within a video, upload it to YouTube, and notify PGT via a comment on their challenge video. The first successful submission before Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 release in September will claim the prize.

The possibility of the challenge's futility remains. The cutscene's unusual nature suggests it might be cut content, removed during development. If unsolved, future data mining might reveal its intended purpose. For now, this enigmatic Karlach moment remains a captivating puzzle.
