Author : Aaliyah Jan 26,2025

Crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3! Patch 8, slated for release sometime in 2025, will introduce this highly anticipated feature. Before the full launch, however, Larian Studios is hosting a Patch 8 Stress Test in January 2025, giving select players early access to crossplay and other new features.

When Will Crossplay Arrive?

While a firm release date for Patch 8 is still under wraps, the January 2025 stress test will offer a sneak peek at cross-platform play. This early access period allows Larian to identify and fix bugs before the wider release.

How to Participate in the Stress Test:

Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3To join the Patch 8 Stress Test and experience crossplay firsthand, register through Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account; create one or log in if you already have one. The registration process is quick and simple, requiring basic player information, including your preferred gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).

Important Note: Registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Selected participants can provide valuable feedback through feedback forms and Discord.

The stress test will also assess the compatibility of the new patch with various mods. Mod users and developers are encouraged to participate to ensure a smooth transition.

Remember: All players in your Baldur's Gate 3 group must be part of the stress test to utilize crossplay during this period. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release in 2025.

Baldur's Gate 3's enduring popularity and strong community make the addition of crossplay a significant event, promising to unite players across different platforms and further enrich the Faerûn experience.
