The Dark Knight's reign in the video game world was once a constant stream of new releases. Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series, in particular, revolutionized superhero gaming, setting a high bar that continues to influence the genre today.
Yet, the Bat-signal has dimmed considerably in recent years. A true, standalone Batman game hasn't graced our screens since 2017's The Enemy Within, and the future remains uncertain. While comic book fans eagerly anticipate new superhero titles, those yearning to don the cowl will need to delve into the past to experience the best Batman games.

He appeared in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, though it's hardly a solo Batman adventure. More importantly, the Arkhamverse expanded with a new VR entry. This review has been updated to reflect this, with the VR game section expanded and new galleries added showcasing some of the best Batman games.
