Following Samin's hint, your search begins in the Iceshard Cliffs region. Forget waypoints; this hunt relies on keen eyes and a bit of luck. The Rime Beetle's habit of rolling snowballs makes it relatively easy to spot amidst the snowy landscape.

Focus your search on Iceshard Cliffs Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13. Keep an eye out for these telltale snowballs, and follow any tracks you find in the snow.

While you can collect the Rime Beetle manually, capturing it is the objective. Equip your Capture Net (it should be in your inventory). Aim with L2/LT, wait for the orange targeting indicator, and fire (Square/X). This adds the Rime Beetle to your collection, completing Samin's request. Alternatively, direct collection yields Frost Pods for inflicting ice damage.

This concludes your guide to finding and capturing Rime Beetles in Monster Hunter Wilds. Check The Escapist for more Monster Hunter Wilds tips and information.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
