Civilization VII Free Updates

Firaxis will continuously refine Civ VII with free updates, incorporating player feedback to enhance the core gameplay experience. Initial updates will prioritize balance adjustments, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. Beyond that, the development team's top priorities include:

  • Adding team functionality to multiplayer for cooperative play.
  • Expanding multiplayer to eight players across all ages, refining the Distant Land system.
  • Giving players the option to select starting and ending ages for single or double-age games.
  • Introducing a wider variety of map types.
  • Implementing hotseat multiplayer.

Please note that specific release dates for these features are not yet available. In addition to these updates, Firaxis has pledged to introduce in-game events and actively support the modding community.
