The Rune Giant, a new Epic card in Clash Royale, is unlocked at the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is available via a limited-time shop offer (until January 17th, 2025). After this date, it can only be obtained from chests or the in-game shop. This guide explores the Rune Giant's capabilities and presents effective deck strategies.

Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview

The Rune Giant is an Epic card targeting enemy Towers and defensive structures. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings – more than an Ice Golem, but less than a Giant.

Its key strength isn't its tankiness, but its unique Enchant effect. Upon deployment, it enchants two nearby troops, granting them bonus damage with every third hit. This buffing ability makes it potent in specific card combinations.

Costing only four elixirs, it's easily cycled without excessive elixir drain. Fast-attacking troops like the Dart Goblin maximize its effect, while slower attackers benefit from strategic deployment. The provided video demonstrates a Hunter, empowered by the Rune Giant's Enchant, swiftly eliminating a Lava Hound.

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant isn't a standalone win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower hits while other units attack.

Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale

Here are some top-performing Rune Giant decks:

  • Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
  • Battle Ram 3M
  • Hog EQ Firecracker

Details on each deck follow.

Goblin Giant Cannon Cart

While the Goblin Giant Sparky deck remains viable, this variant incorporating the Cannon Cart offers a strong alternative when using the Rune Giant.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Goblin Giant6 Evo Bats2 Rage2 Arrows3 Rune Giant4 Lumberjack4 Cannon Cart5 Elixir Collector6

This beatdown deck boasts robust defense against various attack strategies. The Rune Giant effectively buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including the Spear Goblins). The Cannon Cart's durability allows significant damage to troops and towers. The Elixir Collector is crucial for maintaining an elixir advantage. However, its lack of dedicated air defense makes it vulnerable to Lava Hound decks. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.

Battle Ram 3M

The Three Musketeers, while expensive, are surprisingly effective with the Rune Giant. This deck resembles Pekka Bridge Spam.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Zap2 Evo Battle Ram4 Bandit3 Royal Ghost3 Hunter4 Rune Giant4 Elixir Collector6 Three Musketeers9

Early game pressure is maintained using the Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram. The Elixir Collector builds an elixir lead for the Double Elixir phase. The Three Musketeers are strategically deployed, and the Rune Giant and Hunter form a powerful defensive combo. Evo Zap supports Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

Hog EQ Firecracker

A top-tier Hog Rider deck, enhanced by the Rune Giant.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Skeletons1 Evo Firecracker3 Ice Spirit1 The Log2 Earthquake3 Cannon3 Rune Giant4 Hog Rider4

Gameplay mirrors the standard Hog EQ Firecracker, but the Rune Giant replaces the Valkyrie or Mighty Miner. The Rune Giant's Enchant significantly boosts the Firecracker's damage output. The Earthquake provides substantial late-game tower damage. Evo Skeletons offer effective defense. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

The Rune Giant introduces a new strategic layer to Clash Royale. Its buffing capabilities encourage experimentation with unique card combinations. These decks provide a starting point; personalize your deck to optimize your playstyle.
