Crunchyroll Adds Tengami, a Puzzle Game with Japanese Tales that Mimics a Pop-Up Book

Crunchyroll's Game Vault welcomes a captivating new puzzle game: Tengami. This unique title blends anime aesthetics with innovative origami-inspired gameplay, offering a serene yet mysterious experience for Android users. Think visual novel meets pop-up book!

Origami Adventure in Ancient Japan

Tengami's gameplay is groundbreaking. The game unfolds like a meticulously crafted origami creation, immersing players in the world of ancient Japanese folklore. Players will interact with the environment by folding, sliding, and manipulating elements to solve puzzles and uncover hidden secrets.

Explore breathtaking landscapes, from shadowy forests and cascading waterfalls to forgotten shrines. Central to the narrative is a dying cherry tree, the mystery of which drives the player's journey.

Tengami's visuals are simply mesmerizing, bringing the Japanese folktale to life. The enchanting soundtrack, composed by David Wise (renowned for his work on Diddy Kong Racing), perfectly complements the game's atmosphere.

Worth a Play?

Tengami's immersive atmosphere is a testament to its design. The game world faithfully recreates the feel of a real pop-up book; its intricate details are so realistic that you could practically build the game's environments yourself with paper, scissors, and glue.

Developed by Nyamyam and initially released in 2014, Tengami is now available on the Google Play Store through Crunchyroll. It's free for Crunchyroll Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan subscribers.
