Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo delivers another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss offers isometric gameplay, reminiscent of Diablo and Hades, allowing players to build a squad and battle through hordes of enemies. The trailer highlighted characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, battling demonic forces in a hellish landscape.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles support up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors franchise joining the fray.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set in-game bonus is available until March 14, 2025.
