Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2
Deltarune's upcoming version for the Nintendo Switch 2, announced during the latest Nintendo Direct on April 2, promises a unique gaming experience. This version will include chapters 3 and 4, along with exclusive features designed specifically for the next-gen console.
Toby Fox, the developer of Deltarune, shared through a Fangamer newsletter that the Switch 2 version will feature a special room utilizing the new Joy-Con's mouse functionality. Fox excitedly noted, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"
For players without a Switch 2, the special room will still be accessible, but with a different control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a smooth transition.
Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free
In the same newsletter, Toby Fox revealed that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99. This price covers Chapters 1 through 4, with Chapters 1 and 2 initially released for free in 2018 and 2021, respectively. While it was previously announced that Chapters 3 through 5 would be paid content, Fox has now confirmed that future chapters will be available as free updates.
Fox expressed his hope that players will feel they've received incredible value, stating, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."
The game's soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Future chapters will further enhance the soundtrack with additional free songs. Deltarune aims to offer fans a comprehensive and rewarding experience, ensuring that every dollar spent feels well-invested.
Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are set to launch on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2.
