Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming project will offer exclusive early access to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This unfortunately excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco has yet to explain the exclusion of PC players from this initial test phase. However, those selected for console testing will enjoy a first look at the new game before its official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a continuation of the original Elden Ring's storyline, promises a fresh, sinister experience. While console gamers get a head start, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Project director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for message sending or reading. He explained, "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes."
