Epic Games Store Mobile Gets a Massive Upgrade

The Epic Games Store mobile app is undergoing a significant transformation. This update includes the addition of nearly 20 new third-party games and the highly anticipated launch of their free games program for Android globally and iOS within the European Union.

This expansion brings a wave of new titles to the mobile storefront, most notably the integration of Epic's popular free game program. The current free offering is Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, available until February 20th, followed by Bloons TD6.

A key feature of this update is enhanced cross-platform functionality. Users can now seamlessly access their Epic accounts and game libraries across both Android and iOS devices. An automatic update feature ensures users always have the latest versions of their games.

A Strategic Move

Epic Games' commitment to its mobile storefront is evident. While facing competition from established platforms like Steam on PC, their free games initiative on mobile presents a compelling strategy. This approach aligns with Epic's stated goal of supporting developers through a favorable revenue-sharing model, a key element in their ongoing dispute with Apple.
